It's important to choose a ball that's not too heavy and not too light. 10% of your body weight is a good rule. Find the ball that is just right for you.
Position yourself on or near the middle dot. This will give you room to move while aiming for the third arrow on the lane.
Hold the ball about waist high, slightly off to the side. This will give your arm clearance to move easily, straight back and forward.
Your knees should be bent slightly. This is a simple way to release some of the natural tension in your body.
As you take your first step forward, extend your arm. Your arm shouldn't bend until after you release the ball.
